What should you do if you are sexually assaulted?

Get help!

Seek medical attention! 

Go to the hospital immediately without showering or changing from the clothes you were wearing.

This provides as much evidence as possible to aid in the prosecution.

The doctor can then treat any injuries that you may have suffered.

If you want, you can have medical personnel call your local sexual assault agency to have someone come to the hospital to provide you with information on counseling and sexual assault.

Call the police if you are comfortable doing it.  If you want us to assist you, we provide legal advocacy and will be happy to emotionally support you while you talk to the police.
